The philosophy, guideline and creed of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game Conservation Officer shall always be:
- To Assist the public in their compliance with regulations
-To save unfortunate offenders from unnecessary humiliation, inconvenience and distress
- To have no compromise for crime and to resolutely seek the violator, but with judgment charitable toward the minor offender
- Never to cite if a warning would be better
- Never to scold or reprimand, but rather to respect and inform
Our Mission
The Idaho Conservation Officers Association (ICOA) was formed in 1976 as a non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Idaho. The ICOA was established as an organization dedicated to the purpose of protecting and perpetuating the wildlife resources of our state and to promote a more efficient and able body of conservation-enforcement officers.
The mission and objectives of the ICOA are defined in Article II, section 2 of ICOA's constitution and by-laws, They Shall be:
A. To promote a more efficient and able body of conservation-enforcement personnel and to meet our responsibilities and problems collectively.
B. To create a truer sense of loyalty to the department of Fish and Game and to our fellow officers.
C. To aid in any manner possible any brother officer in distress.

Resources
Idaho Game Wardens play a vital role in protecting the state’s natural resources and ensuring the responsible use of wildlife and outdoor spaces. They enforce hunting, fishing, and boating laws, monitor wildlife populations, and work to prevent poaching and other illegal activities that threaten Idaho’s ecosystems. Beyond enforcement, game wardens also educate the public on conservation, outdoor safety, and ethical practices, helping preserve Idaho’s land, water, and wildlife for future generations. Their work is essential in maintaining the balance between recreation and conservation across the state’s vast and diverse outdoors.
